Over the course of this year, students from across the Teach For All network have created powerful one-minute videos for submission to Videos For Change, a project-based learning experience that offers young people a platform to express their perspectives on social issues they’re passionate about through video. Students from multiple partners, including Teach For Armenia, Teach For Cambodia, Teach First Danmark, Enseña por México, Teach For Uganda, and Teach For Ukraine joined other entrants from 46 countries in the first global Videos For Change competition. 

The results of the competition were exhibited in an online global film festival on October 11, and we were excited to see four videos submitted by network students among those winning awards:

It Does Matter (Liza Shelestova, Teach For Ukraine) Best Video - Europe

A Call for Climatic Action (Gaali Shaban, Teach For Uganda) Joint Winner - Best Video - Africa

Tsaghkashat Food Operation (Teach For Armenia) Youth Action Project Award

Water For Life (Teach For Armenia) McCall MacBain Climate Action Award - Junior

In addition, Ivan Samuel Womala (Teach For Uganda) was recognized with a Global Educator Award.

“We hope that the awardees feel a great sense of pride in their achievements,” Videos for Change Founder Roya Baghai shared. “They've shown us why young people play such an important role in helping to shape a safer, fairer, and more sustainable future for us all.” 

The students’ diverse perspectives, creative approaches to storytelling, and motivation to lead positive social change have inspired our global community. We hope these videos along with all of the submissions to the competition encourage other young people to believe their voices matter and their actions can make a difference.
