Pedro Almeida has a degree in Electro-technical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. After working as a Business Analyst in London in the food distribution industry, Pedro completed an MBA at INSEAD. He worked as a strategy consultant at Bain in Madrid and at WireCo, a multinational manufacturing company where he coordinated teams in Commercial Finance, Corporate Development and Strategic Marketing areas in Porto, directly supporting the Executive team. Pedro has been a lecturer teaching programming and math classes at the University of Porto, and also volunteered in Angola where he taught an English course to children from disadvantaged communities. His experience in Angola was one of the motivating factors that led Pedro to co-found Teach For Portugal, as it became difficult to accept that some children have limited opportunities in life just because of where they were born.
