Teach For America alumnus Wisdom Amouzou taught seventh and eighth graders as a corps member in Denver, Colorado. In his eighth grade Socratic Seminar, he encouraged his students to develop their sense of agency, advocate for their beliefs, and “view education not as something that’s done to them, but as a fundamental right that should be done with them.”
