
Xavier Prats-Monne (Chair)
Xavier served at the European Commission in Brussels for over 20 years, including as Director General for Education and Culture. In this role, he was responsible for the European Union’s education policies and programs, including the Erasmus, Marie Curie, and Creative Europe programs. He also represented the EU on the Board of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
He is now the president of the Board of Governors of the Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona and of the Advisory Board of the Open University of Catalonia. He is the advisor of several institutions, including the Jacques Delors Institute, the Fundación Conocimiento y Desarrollo, and Astanor, an impact venture capital investor focusing on the sustainability of food systems. He is a member of the board of the Banco Sabadell Foundation and of Empieza por Educar, and works with several non-profit organizations including Dones Mentores, a CSO dedicated to the prevention and eradication of gender-based violence.
Xavier’s academic background includes degrees in social anthropology and development economics, and he graduated at the top of his class from the College of Europe, where he also served as an assistant professor. Based in Spain, Xavier brings extensive expertise in EU advocacy, strategic partnerships, and education, along with a rich network in Brussels.
Xavier has been a Special Advisor to Teach For All since October 2018.
