I am Eva Mkhitaryan. I am 16-years-old and I live in my small village Lernagog, Armenia. I am currently an 11th-grade student in the humanities stream. My goal is to create change around me and in the world. My aim is to change society’s mindset in a positive direction and to promote the idea that we are all equal. To achieve this goal, I am building a “Garden of Equality”. To reach this point, we did a lot of work: we cleaned the area, created a preliminary design, presented it to an organization, and later won funding to build the garden. We already have a 3D design and will soon begin construction and design work. The garden will be open to everyone, regardless of gender, age, or social status. It will also host various events and educational programs, during which I will discuss the importance of students’ voices with young people.

I am extremely happy to be part of SLAC and I am more than confident that this experience will help me become more self-assured in my leadership skills and guide me toward becoming the leader I have always dreamed of being.
