Andrea Pastorelli holds an undergraduate degree in Communications and Cultural Studies from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and a Master’s degree in International Development and the Environment from Kings College, London. He has 15 years of experience working with diverse organizations on issues related to human rights, public health, poverty, and inequality. Andrea began his career working for the William J. Clinton Foundation, where he supported the development of its first HIV and health programs in Africa, and then joined the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Bureau for Development Policy in New York, where he designed and managed a number of initiatives supporting grassroots organizations working on HIV and human rights around the world. Andrea also worked in Dakar, Senegal, supporting the regional UNDP office in West Africa in its work on governance and coordination and in Beijing, China, where he oversaw UNDP’s Poverty, Equity, and Governance team, launching new initiatives and programs on access to justice, gender equality, LGBT rights and anti-tobacco policy, creating its first partnership with the World Health Organization.  Most recently, Andrea worked for the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Rome, managing regional programs focused on integration of migrants and refugees in Europe, and supporting the Italian Ministry of Interior in developing the first National Integration Plan for Refugees. Andrea joined the inaugural board of Teach For Italy in November 2018 as a CEO, seeing his return to Italy as an opportunity to put his skills and experience at the service of improving educational outcomes for Italy’s future generations.
