Khadija is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Teach For Pakistan, a national non-profit company that nurtures leadership to end educational inequity. Teach For Pakistan provides inspired university graduates the opportunity and support to teach for two years in low-income communities through a structured Fellowship program, and develop the leadership skills and contextual understandings to affect long-term, system-wide reform for educational equity. Teach For Pakistan is a partner in the Teach For All global network.

She first had the idea to launch Teach For Pakistan in 2010, while pursuing a graduate degree at the Goldman School of Public Policy, University of California, Berkeley. Inspired by the impact and conviction of Teach For America Alumni to lead change, Khadija returned to Pakistan in 2010 to launch a similar program locally. Khadija led the Teach For Pakistan program through its fouryear incubation period, recruiting, developing and graduating 100+ exceptional leaders who are working nationwide to accelerate systemic change for equity and excellence in education. In 2017, Teach For Pakistan launched as an independent organization and currently has 76 Fellows teaching 3,000+ students across high-need public schools in rural areas around Islamabad.

Khadija has also led Teach For All’s teacher and alumni leadership development work with partners in the Middle East, South Asia and Africa regions. She is a Fulbright Scholar with a Master of Public Policy from UC, Berkeley and a BSc. (hon) in Social Sciences from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), which recognized her efforts with Teach For Pakistan through the 2019 Vice Chancellor’s Alumni Achievement Award.

She has experience with organizations working on women and children’s empowerment, including UN-Women in New York City, HomeBase in San Francisco, and Rozan and Center of Gender and Policy Studies, Islamabad. She also serves on various Boards and advisory groups, including the Punjab Examination Commission; the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Teaching and Learning Advisory Group; Teach For All’s Diversity Equity and Inclusiveness Taskforce and Global Learning Lab Advisory Council; the Bardasht non-profit school in Tarnol, Islamabad; and the LUMS Islamabad-Rawalpindi Alumni Working Group.
