Manvel Harutyunyan
I am Manvel Harutyunyan, a 16-year-old teenager from Armenia who is full of passion and enthusiasm to make a change in this world. I live in the small village of Vanashen, situated in Ararat province and I am attending the tenth grade of the local secondary school. Concurrently I study robotics in engineering school. I was born in a family where education and knowledge have always been of high value, and I am grateful to my parents, with whose support I achieved various attainments.
Ever since I was a child, I have tried to be as curious as I can. In school, I love all subjects and study excellently․ Nevertheless I am more passionate about STEM subjects and I envision my future profession in the field of biophysics. My hobbies are diverse, I like to read books, draw, play the guitar, do calligraphy, travel, etc. If I had to describe my characteristics in three words I'm sure they would be the following: integrity, uniqueness, patriotism.
In addition to school life, I am involved in many extracurricular programs, among which I can mention Diamond Challenge, ArMicro, Science Olympiad, Climate Challenge, and BrainBee. I find that volunteer work is very important for teenagers and as a volunteer I am involved in the largest environmental organization in Armenia—Maqoor. From an early age, I tried to fight against important problems. I remember when I made a poster about children's rights for the school, after that I won the competition about children's rights organized by the European Union with the same poster, and I met with the deputy ambassador of the EU in Armenia and discussed this important topic.
I am sure that SLAC is a great platform for young people who want to solve the multifaceted problems of the world. Being a collective platform, it carries a multicultural ring, with which students use their differences as an advantage to connect with each other. SLAC's influence on Teach For All is irreplaceable. By solving various community and global problems, the young leaders will help Teach For All move faster and in bigger steps closer to its goals․
