In Lebanon, Ahmad El Baghdadi and his colleagues created Planet B to integrate climate education into the curriculum
Ahmad El Baghdadi was a mechanical engineer with a masters degree in sustainable energy systems when he joined Teach For Lebanon and began teaching math in an Armenian high school. When he challenged his students to address problems in their environment, he found that they came up with ingenious solutions, though they had little exposure to climate education. To change that, and have an impact beyond his school, Ahmad teamed up with seven other Teach For Lebanon fellows to create Planet B, a project that includes teacher training, resource generation, and project implementation around climate change education. All Teach For Lebanon fellows now receive Planet B as part of their training, and the group is working to have it incorporated into the broader Lebanese curriculum.
