Through real-world projects, Empieza por Educar alumnus Egoitz Etxeandia's students are directly impacting their community
Empieza por Educar alumnus Egoitz Etxeandia believes that education doesn't just happen within the walls of a classroom, and that connecting learning to real world experiences—and seeing that they can have an impact on their communities—is important for both students and teachers. Egoitz and his students developed a variety of projects that bring concepts including environmental sustainability, STEAM, and entrepreneurship to life—including a circular economy initiative in which students grew mushrooms from discarded coffee grounds, and then sold them to raise funds for their school.
Watch the video to hear Egoitz explain the value of developing students' agency to solve real-world issues affecting their community, and learn more about Teach For All's Climate Education and Leadership and Future of Work initiatives.
